Nest Form - cold cast composite with gold leaf, April 2019
This small piece was inspired by the tiny fragile nest of a wasp with its paper-thin shell constructed from stripped wood, protecting perfect hexagonal egg chambers. The piece is presented in two versions: the first, monochrome with a scorched wooden base and the second with the precious chambers highlighted by gold leaf.
Nest Form was cold cast in Jesmonite at Mouldmaking and Casting, Stokesby, Norfolk (see Contacts) and measures approximately 15cm in diameter and height. One mounted version available to buy.
